To close the day in style, from 10:30 p.m. there will be a grand finale with a street parade and the traditional burning of the famous Borrachito Fogatero in Plaza del Corpus.

Who is the Borrachito Fogatero?

The Borrachito Fogatero dates back to the late 1970s and was created as a tribute to the area’s winemaking tradition. Over time, it has become one of its most recognised festive symbols. Its cultural value has earned it the status of Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC).

During the night-time celebration, the square fills with large masked figures, giants and big-heads carrying flares, as well as the Dama de Lodero, a giant figure that announces the arrival of the main character. The Borrachito, a figure weighing around 40 kilos and shaped like a wine barrel, moves through the square to the rhythm of the polka while releasing fireworks, creating a show full of music, tradition and pyrotechnics.
