Sardine Festival in Barlovento 2026

La Sardinísima is one of the most beloved events of La Palma’s Carnival. It marks the end of the festivities with humor, tradition and the warm atmosphere that can only be experienced in the villages of the north.

On March 6 and 7, 2026, from 10 in the morning, Barlovento fills with masks, batucadas and symbolic farewells to close the Carnival until next year.

Friday, March 6

10.00 am. School Carnival Parade
The municipality’s educational community parades through the town center with costumes and carnival performances by students.

4.00 pm. Sardinísima Children’s Party 2026
An afternoon dedicated to children with activities and entertainment.

6.00 pm. Opening of the Sardinísima Kiosk
Tasting of fried sardines and local wine begins, accompanied by live music from Lupi.

7.00 pm. Sardinísima Bingo 2026
A fun and participatory event within the festive program.

9.00 pm. Concert by Karina Bracho
Live performance followed by pre-Sardinísima entertainment by Bloquinho Do Percussao Samba Tao.

Saturday, March 7

12.00 pm. La Sardinita and Her Little Fish Party
Children’s activities with inflatables, workshops, games and music for the whole family.

3.00 pm. Live performance by Nati Caru & Leonardo Lires
Live music to keep the afternoon lively.

4.00 pm. Arrival of La Sardinísima
Grand entrance accompanied by her Viudísima and festive entourage, with Tou Band leading the rhythm.

5.00 pm. Grand Sardinísima Parade 2026
Carnival parade featuring batucadas Tambor Axé and Bloquinho Do Percussao Samba Tao and the comparsas Infantil de Barlovento, Vía Láctea and Río de Fuego.

6.00 pm. Popular Open-Air Dance
Music and dancing with Grupo Libertad and DJ T3NAX.

9.30 pm. Final Procession and Burning of La Sardinísima
Symbolic farewell to Carnival with batucada and fireworks display.
