Tazacorte is once again celebrating its festivities in honour of Our Lady of Carmen, patron saint of fishermen and the sea. The programme of events begins on 3 July and runs until the end of August, with something for everyone: sports, music, tradition, culture and plenty of fun for children and adults alike.
The most eagerly awaited moment is undoubtedly 16 July, the patron saint’s main feast day, when the whole town takes to the streets from dawn to enjoy the Diana parade with giants and big-head figures, the traditional cucaña at the harbour, the solemn Eucharist and the spectacular maritime procession, during which the image of the Virgin sails across the waters of the Atlantic accompanied by the Municipal Music Band. The day ends with a moving Salve Marinera and fireworks lighting up the night in her honour.

On 21, 23 and 25 July, domino and poker tournaments will be held. Meanwhile, on 30 and 31 July and 1 August, the “Menudo Puntales” tournament will take place, the major summer Canarian wrestling event dedicated to children and young people on the beach of Puerto de Tazacorte.
