10th World Cultures Festival 2025

The market area of Puntagorda will host on May 3rd and 4th the 10th edition of the World Cultures Festival, an event that celebrates cultural diversity through music, gastronomy, and traditions. This multicultural gathering brings together representatives from various countries who will share part of their cultural identity with the public through food, dance, music, and arts.

The fair aims to promote respect, tolerance, and intercultural understanding, encouraging peaceful coexistence and appreciation of the many cultures that enrich our world.

📅 Saturday, May 3rd
🕒 3:00 PM – Opening of the fair and the food stalls from Peru, Ukraine, India, Morocco, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, and the Canary Islands.
🎺 A parade featuring representatives of each country will be accompanied by live music from the 101 Brass Band.

🕞 3:30 PM – Face painting activity for children, inspired by native cultures, run by CLI El Árbol.

🕓 4:00 PM – Traditional Bulgarian dance performance by the group V.E.L.I.K.A.

🕟 4:30 PM – Basque dance workshop led by the group Korrontzi.

🕠 5:30 PM – Ukrainian traditional dance and music by the Association of Ukrainians in the Canary Islands.

🕕 6:00 PM – Exhibition of traditional Canarian instruments and introduction to local drumming folklore by Taller Majiñeñe Artesanía with the collaboration of the group Idiren.

🕖 7:00 PM – Recognition ceremony for participants and closure of stands for the day.

🎶 7:30 PM – Concert by Korrontzi (Basque Country).
🎶 9:00 PM – Concert by Def Maa Maa Def (Senegal).

📅 Sunday, May 4th
🕚 11:00 AM – Reopening of the fair with new food stalls from the Netherlands, Venezuela, Africa, Cuba, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina.
🎺 Opening parade with participating countries and live music by La Charanga de Puntagorda.
🎭 Simultaneously: African mask workshop by Elena López.

🕦 11:30 AM – Chilean traditional dance performance by the group Asculchican.

🕛 12:00 PM – Concert by Mambisa, offering a mix of traditional and fusion folk music.

🕜 1:30 PM – Colombian dance performance by the Macondo Association, accompanied by live music from Flor de Melón.

🕝 2:30 PM – Cuban music performance by Son de Almizcle.

🕞 3:30 PM – Closing of stands and recognition ceremony for participants.

🕓 4:00 PM – Concert by Los Justicieros, with a Latin American music repertoire to joyfully close the event.
