The El Paso Carnival 2026, celebrated throughout February and early March, fills the town with colour, music and shared joy.
It is a close, creative and family friendly carnival.
The programme combines children’s activities, street parades, contests, themed parties and events for young people and seniors.
Among the highlights are the Fiesta de la Peluca, Carnival in the Street, school parades, the symbolic Burial of the Rabbit and the popular Senior Carnival.

Friday, 6 February
Children’s costume party
- From 5.00 pm, a large children’s carnival party will take place.
There will be creative workshops, inflatable attractions, music, children’s characters and games.
A safe and fun event for the whole family. El Paso Municipal Market.
Saturday, 7 February
Carnival in the Street
- At 2.00 pm the activities begin with the workshop Decorate Your Wig, inflatable games, a mechanical bull, the fantasy workshop Glitter Yara and music by DJ Xavi. Plaza Francisca de Gazmira.
- At 3.00 pm, Margullando in pairs will take place. A carnival style version of the Fiesta de la Peluca, including a gastronomic contest. Previous registration is required from 26 to 30 January. Calle Manuel Taño.
- At 5.30 pm, the Carnival Parranda will start, with a train ride from Barranco de Las Canales to Avenida Islas Canarias. The parade will be accompanied by A.F. Volcán de San Juan and masked participants.
- At 6.30 pm, a large street parade will take place, featuring Batucada Badakatun, La Charanga, Carolina Ramírez’s Kids Zumba Group, Comparsa Río de Fuego, Comparsa Samba do Corazao, Comparsa Samba do Corazao Junior, carnival characters and children’s characters. The route runs from José María Brito Pérez Street to Manuel Taño Street.
- At 7.00 pm, the El Espejo Mágico photo booth will be available. Visitors can take home a printed souvenir from the Fiesta de la Peluca. Manuel Taño Street, corner of Avenida Islas Canarias.
- Also at 7.00 pm, the El Paso Crece photocall will take place. A contest for the most original and fun wig, organised by the El Paso Crece Business Association. Participants can win shopping vouchers for local businesses. Town Hall Atrium.
- At 7.30 pm, the main event begins. Fiesta de la Peluca, with performances by Salvapantallas, Nueva Línea, Tropicana’s, Yet Garbey, DJ Visac and DJ Wes. Fermín Sosa Street.
Friday, 20 February
Carnival Parade “El Mar”
- At 10.30 am, the themed carnival parade El Mar will take place.
Participants include CEIP Adamancasis, CEIP La Rosa Camino Viejo, CEIP Arco Iris, CEIP Jedey, EIM Doña Carmela, El Árbol Children’s Leisure Centre, IES El Paso and the senior citizens’ group. The parade will follow the main streets of the town and finish at Plaza Francisca de Gazmira. A truly intergenerational carnival event.
Saturday, 7 March
Burial of the Rabbit and Senior Carnival
- At 3.00 pm, the traditional Burial of the Rabbit will be celebrated.
The event will feature Parranda La Laja, Parranda Por Montera, Batucada Badakatun, the murgas Los Canchanchanes and Ni Sí Ni No, the show Yo Marc, a tribute to Marc Anthony, and music by DJ Padilla and DJ Renzo. Avenida Islas Canarias. - At 5.30 pm, the Senior Carnival will take place. An Indian themed party with live music by Los Chicos del Son. There will be a contest for the most original outfit. Categories include individual and couple. Senior Citizens’ Centre.
