Organized by the Santa Cruz de La Palma City Council and the Cultural Association Día del Corsario, the event commemorates the 1553 attack of corsair François Le Clerc, better known as Peg Leg. The story comes back to life with dramatic intensity thanks to the reenactment of the city's brave resistance, led by the legendary Baltasar Martín, a local hero who defended the city with courage.
Iconic locations such as Naval Museum, and the squares of San Francisco, España, Santo Domingo, and La Alameda come alive with performances, historical recreations, and street animation that transport visitors back to the 16th century. This unique combination of theatre, history, and heritage turns Santa Cruz into a vibrant stage full of emotion and island pride.
The day ends with a free concert by Mägo de Oz at the Recinto Popular, the legendary Spanish rock band who will light up the night with their boundless energy and rebellious spirit. A night to sing, celebrate, and get carried away by the magic of music and history.
