Guided Hike Through the Cubo de la Galga: Nature at Its Purest

Step into one of the most enchanting forests of La Palma. The Cubo de la Galga welcomes you with giant ferns, wildflowers, and the refreshing coolness of its ancient laurel forest.

The journey begins at the Environmental Info Point in La Galga, or you can choose the convenient pickup option from various tourist spots on the island. From here, a well-marked 11 km trail leads you deep into lush greenery, where the trees seem to whisper stories from another era.
The trail leads to the Somada Alta viewpoint, where, on clear days, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Tenerife, La Gomera, and the charming villages of San Andrés and Los Sauces. A perfect spot for photos and reflection.
The descent is a true treat for the senses. Surrounded by the aromas of thyme, mint, and wild oregano, you’ll walk through shaded forest trails until you reach San Bartolo, a picturesque village where you can enjoy lunch on your own and take a well-deserved break.
As the hike continues, the landscape changes once again: the dense laurisilva gives way to a drier coastal environment, where cacti, banana plantations, and mango farms fill the horizon with color and texture.
