
The San Juan Festivities 2026, the patron saint celebrations of Puntallana, will be held from Juni 1 to June 30, with a programme designed for families and for anyone who wants to experience the town’s traditions up close. Over several weeks, both locals and visitors will find activities for all ages, in a festive atmosphere that blends devotion, culture and popular gatherings.
The main highlights will take place especially from the second week of June onwards and mainly at weekends, with much awaited events such as the Wine and Cheese Festival at the Market, the Livestock Fair, Vinos & Tapas with musical entertainment and the chance to enjoy local specialities, as well as open air dances and more religious and cultural events. On the final day, the traditional Baile de Magos will bring the celebrations to a special close, becoming one of the most memorable moments of these festivities in Puntallana.

Wednesday 1
From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the first meeting will be held to prepare the atlas of the intangible heritage of the island of La Palma, at Casa Luján.
At 6:00 p.m., the book “The Soul of La Palma: Artisan Trades of the La Palma World Biosphere Reserve” will be presented at Casa Luján.
At 7:30 p.m., the San Juan OPEN Petanque Tournament 2026 will take place.
Thursday 2
At 10:30 a.m., the educational activity Discovering the Reserve will be held, with environmental education stations aimed at children from the Puntallana Summer Campus.
At 4:00 p.m., the conference sessions on water saving in La Palma’s crops and the introduction of new crops such as coffee and olive trees will take place at Casa Luján.
Friday 3
At 4:00 p.m., the talk “A Secret in the Sea of La Palma” will be held at Casa Luján.
At 8:30 p.m., the Puntallana Municipal Music Band will give a concert with the show “The Emigrant… Songs of Departure and Dreams of Return”, in San Juan Square.
Saturday 4
At 10:00 a.m., the ethnographic route through the centre of Puntallana, “The Thread of Water and the Word”, will take place.
At 12:00 noon, the official ceremony for the declaration of Los Tilos as a World Biosphere Reserve will be held at the Casa de la Cultura.
At 2:00 p.m., the closing of Reserve Week will be celebrated with a paella meal and performances by Código Latino, Son del Tilo and Parranda La Palma, in San Juan Square.
Friday 5
At 8:30 p.m., the 3rd Anniversary Festival of Danzar de Los Alisios will be held.
Sunday 7
At 11:00 a.m., the 2nd Puntallana Wine and Cheese Fair will take place, with free tastings of wines and cheeses from the municipality, accompanied by Parranda Los de Repente and inflatable attractions, at the Municipal Market.
Sunday 14
At 12:00 noon, San Juan with the Family will be held, with inflatable attractions for children and an open-air dance enlivened by Orquesta Saoco, at the Municipal Market.
Wednesday 17
At 7:00 p.m., there will be a Rhythmic Gymnastics Exhibition by Club Adeyahamen Nogales, in San Juan Square.
Thursday 18
At 7:30 p.m., the end-of-year performance by the children’s and youth group of the Municipal Theatre School will take place at the Casa de la Cultura.
Friday 19
At 8:30 p.m., the official opening speech of the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities of San Juan Bautista will be delivered by Enervelio Cabrera Sánchez, in the Town Hall courtyard.
At 9:30 p.m., there will be a musical performance by Los Benahoare together with soloist Javier Hernández, in San Juan Square.
Saturday 20 - 18th San Juan de Puntallana Livestock Fair
At 10:00 a.m., livestock will enter the fairgrounds.
At 12:00 noon, the 18th San Juan de Puntallana Livestock Fair will open at the fairgrounds.
At 12:00 noon, the 12th Island Cheese Competition will be held at the Municipal Market.
From 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be an exhibition of goats, sheep and cattle, as well as native dog breeds, at the fairgrounds.
At 1:00 p.m., the Island Competition for Livestock and Native Dogs will take place, together with a cattle-pulling event by Club de Arrastre La Canga, at the fairgrounds.
At 1:00 p.m., there will be a tasting of typical local products in the area around the fairgrounds.
At 5:00 p.m., the awards ceremony and closing of the fair will take place at the fairgrounds.
At 6:00 p.m., the 4th Wines and Tapas for San Juan will begin, with around twenty establishments offering culinary proposals and wines, accompanied by Leonardo Lires and inflatable attractions for children, on Calle Constitución.
From 10:00 p.m. onwards, the tribute “Te regalo una rosa” to Juan Luis Guerra will be held, with Orquesta Tropicana’s and DJ Manega, in San Juan Square.
Sunday 21
At 12:00 noon, the festive Canarian wrestling bout between C.L. Candelaria and C.L. Tedote will take place in the area adjoining the Town Hall.
Throughout the day, there will be an Exhibition of Classic Cars organised by Club de Automóviles Antiguos El Paso, on Calle Constitución.
At 1:00 p.m., Son 21 will perform in concert with their show “Bravo por la música”, under the musical direction of José Antonio González, in San Juan Square.
Monday 22 - Children’s Day
At 5:00 p.m., Planeta Komba will arrive with a large children’s park featuring inflatables, games and attractions, in San Juan Square.
At 7:00 p.m., the musical show Planeta Komba will take place, a journey inspired by the universe of space and planets, in San Juan Square.
Tuesday 23 - Eve of San Juan Bautista
At 8:30 p.m., the Solemn Novena in honour of San Juan Bautista will be celebrated, followed by a procession accompanied by the Puntallana Municipal Music Band, the performance of the Hymn to San Juan Bautista, the lighting of the traditional bonfire and a fireworks display. Afterwards, there will be a musical parade enlivened by Grupo Trébol, in San Juan Square.
Wednesday 24 - Solemnity of San Juan Bautista
At 6:00 p.m., the Solemn Religious Service in honour of San Juan Bautista will be celebrated, followed by a procession.
At 8:00 p.m., Taburiente will perform in concert with their show “50 Years and More”, in San Juan Square.
Thursday 25 - Afternoon Dedicated to Our Elderly Residents
At 6:00 p.m., an afternoon dedicated to elderly residents will be held, featuring a handicrafts exhibition by the Day Centre, a sponge-cake competition, a shared snack and a performance by Manolo “El Charro”, in San Juan Square.
Friday 26
At 4:30 p.m., the closing ceremony of the 2025/2026 season of La Unión Football School will take place at La Camacha Municipal Football Ground.
At 9:00 p.m., the Regional Folklore Festival will be held, with the participation of the Puntallana Folklore School, Danzar de los Alisios and the Tejeguate Folklore Group from El Hierro, in San Juan Square.
Saturday 27
At 8:00 p.m., the Offering to San Juan Bautista will take place, from the Town Hall to the Parish Church, accompanied by the Puntallana Folklore School and A.F. Tejeguate from El Hierro.
Afterwards, the Baile de Magos, a traditional Canarian dance, will be held with the folk groups El Arique, Puntallana Folklore School and Los de Repente, in San Juan Square.
After midnight, the Traditional Open-Air Dance will take place with Zebensuí Melián, in San Juan Square.
Monday 29 - Biosphere Week
At 9:30 a.m., the different exhibitions organised by the La Palma World Biosphere Reserve will open.
At 10:00 a.m., the Meeting of Businesswomen and Women Decision-Makers with Yayo Herrero will take place at Casa Luján.
At 7:30 p.m., the San Juan OPEN Petanque Tournament 2026 will be held.
Tuesday 30
At 5:00 p.m., a volunteering activity will be carried out to remove invasive species in the area around Cubo de La Galga.
At 7:00 p.m., Festivalito 360, a screening of short films from Festivalito, will take place at the Casa de la Cultura.
