La playa de Bajamar, located on the coast of Breña Alta on the island of La Palma, is a popular semi-urban beach with fine black sand, known for being the second most visited beach on the east coast during the summer months and boasting the distinction of the blue flag.
Bajamar beach, the favorite semi-urban beach of the locals with services and authentic atmosphere in La Palma
With approximately 700 meters in length and 43 in width, this beach is strategically located between the marina and the Natural Monument of Risco de la Concepción, where the famous Mirador de la Concepción is located, near Santa Cruz de La Palma. The presence of Risco de la Concepción causes the sun to disappear in the afternoon earlier than on the neighboring capital beach. However, this beach is especially sheltered from the waves by the capital’s port, which is located directly in front.
In addition to being a favorite destination for bathers and tourists, Bajamar offers a wide variety of amenities, such as umbrellas, a café-restaurant, as well as a children’s playground and parking for those who visit by car.
La Palma’s Bajamar beach has a wide promenade that connects Cancajos beach with Santa Cruz beach. This promenade is very popular among athletes and residents of the area, especially at certain times of the day.
