Views & Landscape
This viewpoint is the highlight of a beautiful walk through the UNESCO-protected laurel forest of Los Tilos. At the end of the trail, the path narrows into a rocky spur that extends like a pier over the ravine.
From this point, the view is simply breathtaking: an ocean of green covering the Barranco del Agua, with mist and light playing between the treetops. On clear days, you’ll feel fully immersed in nature, with the sound of hidden water deep below and the lush forest stretching out beneath your feet.
Although safe, the exposed location of the viewpoint can be intimidating for those with vertigo. But if you take that final step, the view will more than make up for it.

The Trail to the Viewpoint
- Starting point: Right next to the wooden signboard near the Los Tilos road.
- Follow the signs for Espigón Atravesado Viewpoint and the Marcos y Cordero Springs.
- The trail gently climbs between mossy stones, giant ferns, laurels and fayas, wrapped in cool, damp air.
- At the top, a sign indicates the beginning of the final staircase to the viewpoint, and also reminds hikers that mobile coverage is available in case of emergency.
