The Fascinating Journey of the Banana: From Plant to Table
Housed in a traditional two-story Canarian house, surrounded by banana plantations, the museum opened its doors in 2004 with the aim of showcasing the entire production process of bananas on La Palma, from cultivation to distribution.
Through informative panels, old photographs, and visual displays, visitors learn about the origin of the banana, its nutritional benefits, the varieties grown on the island, and the economic importance of this crop for La Palma.
A Tropical Courtyard Experience
In the museum’s outdoor plaza, surrounded by lush tropical greenery, you can explore different species of banana plants. On some days, visitors may also enjoy tastings of banana-based products, adding a delicious touch to the cultural experience.
