What to see from Llano del Jable

- Black earth & green pines: recent lava flows and volcanic ash contrast with the intense green of the Canary pines.
- Valle de Aridane & Atlantic Ocean: a privileged view of the fertile valley, its towns and the deep blue sea.
- Caldera de Taburiente: to the right rise the towering walls of this ancient volcanic caldera.
- Trail to Tajogaite’s north crater: a short path left of the viewpoint leads to a spot overlooking the island’s youngest volcano (2021).
- Especially stunning at sunset or under the stars.
Tips for your visit
- Proper footwear: volcanic terrain with loose ash; light hiking shoes recommended.
- Explore beyond: trails lead to Montaña del Gallo (7 km round trip) or San Juan lava fields with unique views of Tajogaite.
- Best at sunset & for stargazing: facing west, it offers perfect conditions for astrophotography.
- Bring water & sun protection: little shade outside the pines and volcanic ground heats up.
- No toilets or services, plan ahead.
